When to contact the GSO?

  • You are in a situation and do not know how to proceed.
  • You believe you have been treated unfairly or insensitively by others.
  • You feel your concerns or complaints have not been listened to.
  • You feel powerless, frustrated, or afraid.
  • You need coaching on dispute resolution and conflict management.
  • You need help deescalating a situation.

GSO SERVICES

The GSO can:

  • Provide information about University policies, procedures, and resources.
  • Coach students through tough conversations and circumstances.
  • Listen and serve as a resource as students evaluate options and make decisions.

GSO services are:

  • Confidential.
    The GSO holds conversations in strict confidence, apart from imminent risk of serious harm to self or others.
  • Independent.
    The GSO is not a part of the University administration.
  • Informal.
    The GSO offers informal assistance for those who voluntarily seek its services.
  • Neutral.
    The GSO does not take sides in any matter.
